New Recipe 🍰 - Chocolate Turkey Cupcakes

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃 To those celebrating, I hope the holiday is treating you and your loved ones very well!

In honor of this special day, I have a super cute and creative recipe to feature. What initially was going to be just a birthday gift turned into a fun treat to share with my coworkers. These chocolate turkey cupcakes were a huge hit!

If you wind up making them, please do let me know! And of course, you can switch up the decorations any way you desire.

Turkey Cupcakes Recipe 🧁

Cupcakes can be made with any boxed cake recipe. Icing and decorations as follows:

  • 1 1/3 cups of softened butter

  • 5 1/3 cups of powdered sugar

  • 2/3 cups unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

  • 4 tbsp. heavy cream

  • Pinch of kosher salt

Items for assembling:

  • 24 chocolate cupcakes

  • Pretzels

  • Candy Corn

  • Brown M&M's (I used yellow, orange, and red for variety)

  • Candy Eyes

Instructions:

  1. Bake cupcakes according to boxed mix (or own personal recipe.)

  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until fluffy.

  3. Add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Beat until combined.

  4. Add vanilla extract, heavy creams, and a pinch of salt before combining once again.

  5. Fill a pastry bag fitted with a 1/2" round tip with frosting.

  6. Once cupcakes are cool, frost them by making 1 larger frosting dollop for the body and 1 smaller one on top for the face.

  7. Place 2 pretzels on the backside for the tail, 3-4 candy corn in front to finish the tail.

  8. Place a candy corn on the face to make the beak, and 3 M&M's on each side for the wings.

  9. Place 2 candy eyes above the beak, and you have yourself a turkey cupcake! Enjoy!
